If your child
is in high school as of this September you either have already or will
soon receive a message from the school regarding the No Child
Left Behind Act. A
fortunate feature of this legislation allows parents and
students the
right to deny releasing their name, address, phone number to military
recruiters. If you have not seen this form or it somehow got
overlooked, contact your high school as soon as possible. If you do not
sign this opt out form you and your child are likely to get a never
ending barrage of letters, calls and home visits from the recruiters
with promises of fame, fortune and glory and little truth about the
war(s).
